FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1What causes some deodorants to leave white marks on dark clothing?
2What causes yellowing in the underarm area of light-coloured clothing?
Yellow stains gradually build up from wash to wash. Various factors contribute to the formation of these stains, such as anti-perspirant actives and the skin’s sebum and sweat which is then absorbed into the fabric. These then react with water and washing detergent. This chemical reaction produces yellow-coloured deposits that remain stuck in the fibers. With every wash the fabric becomes more and more yellow.
3Why doesn’t everyone get these yellow marks on their clothing?
4What can be done about existing yellow stains?
Citric or acetic acid can lighten the stains and sometimes even remove them entirely. If you already have t-shirts with yellow stains in the underarm area, you can try to remove them by following this procedure: Add 10 tablespoons of 25% acetic acid or 300 ml of 5% table vinegar to 5 liters of warm water. Alternatively, dissolve 12 grams of citric acid in 1 liter of water. These products are available from pharmacies and supermarkets. Depending on the severity of the stain, soak the item in this solution for about 12 hours and then wash. Be careful with coloured and delicate fabrics, and garments with mother-of-pearl buttons, since they will might suffer from the acidic solution.
5How often can I use this product?
6Does this product cause more irritation than other products?
No, as all products the NIVEA Invisible for Black & White products were of course thoroughly tested for their efficacy and skin compatibility before they were launched. In all tests the Invisible for Black & White products proved to be very well skin compatible.
7HOW DOES THE FORMULA WORK (AGAINST WHITE AND YELLOW MARKS)?
